A warped exhaust manifold on the TD5 engine is a common problem, and an almost certainty on tuned vehicles eventually. These heavy duty TD5 manifold studs are made from much stronger steel than the Land Rover ones making them far less likely to snap and are also slightly longer to help with heat dissipation.
This kit is based on our original Td5 stud kit but uses custom-made studs which are longer for even better heat dissipation plus and Aerotight™ self-locking nuts. It even includes a new M8 tap to clean the threads.
Aimed at hard working and highly tuned Td5 vehicles, the kit includes:
- 10 x bespoke engineering studs
- 10 x split beam type all metal locking Aerotightâ„¢ nuts in A2 stainless steel
- 2 x OEM turbo oil feed banjo washers
- 1 x OEM turbo drain gasket
- 1 x OEM turbo to manifold gasket
- 1 x OEM turbo to downpipe gasket
- 3 x M10 flanged nuts – turbo to exhaust downpipe
- 3 x M8 flanged nuts – turbo to manifold
- 1 x M8 x 1.25 thread tap to clean threads

The studs in these kits are custom made to our own specification. They are longer – there is now more thread going into the cylinder head and spacers are fatter giving better surface tension against the exhaust manifold.
Heat management is the key to making your exhaust manifold last, as well as other components. We highly recommend fitting an EGT (exhaust gas temperature) gauge to your vehicle to enable you to monitor the temperatures the manifold is exposed to, and take action where excessive temperatures are noted.
