Delivery Information

We always aim to get your order to you as quickly as possible in-line with your selected shipping option.  Please find below and explanation of each shipping option.

Please be aware that once orders leave us they are out of our control.  If you have any issues with your delivery please contact us first rather than DHL as we have more direct contact with them and can usually resolve issues quicker.

Delivery times are an estimate only and not guaranteed by us or our delivery contractors.

If your order is urgent the please always contact us before placing your order.

For all orders received before 12:00pm Monday to Friday we aim to dispatch orders the same day wherever possible, however this is not always possible.  Equally we may be able to send later orders the same day depending on when our parcel collection happens.  We do not get collections on Saturdays therefore orders placed after 12:00 on Fridays will be processed on the following Monday.

* Please be aware that orders to Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and remote areas are normally 48 hour delivery.

Isle of Wight- if you place an order to be delivered to the Isle of Wight you will be presented with only "DHL Express" as the delivery option.  This is because we found DHL Parcel UK were adding an "Isle of Wight charge".  DHL Express are therefore better value for you.

Collection of orders is welcomed.  Collections must always be pre-arranged to ensure that the order is ready and that we are going to be there when you collect.

Subject to circumstances we can often accommodate out of hours collections for urgent orders.

UK deliveries are provided by DHL Parcel UK.  We have found this to be the most reliable service overall.

Delivery costs shown on the website are based on weight.  Depending on your order it may be necessary to split the order into more packages which may incur additional costs.  Similarly items over 120cm incur outrageous additional costs.  We will contact you if there are any issues.

When your order has been packed and is ready for collection you will receive an email from us with the tracking number.  Once the order has been collected by DHL it will be trackable on their system.  You will also have the option to change your delivery, specify a safe place etc.

Unless specified otherwise, all orders are sent out with instructions to leave either with a neighbour or safe place.  If there is no safe place or your neighbours don’t like you please let us know and we can specify a “doorstep only” delivery meaning if you are not in it will not be left.

If you have any issues with your delivery please contact us in the first instance rather than trying to contact DHL - we have more direct contact with DHL.

Shipping costs have increased significantly and since COVID there have been additional surcharges such as "Emergency Situation" (during COVID), "HGV Surcharges" (around 1.5%) and "Variable Fuel Surcharges"(around 15%).  These are all percentage charges so the higher the original shipping cost the higher these charges are.  These charges are included in our delivery cost, and whilst we do not agree with them they are outside of our control.

We cannot deliver to PO Boxes.

Since we use couriers we cannot have orders sent to PO Boxes.  We are aware that some people like to use PO Boxes for privacy reasons however these are just an internal mail system for Royal Mail.  Even Parcelforce cannot deliver to a PO Box.

If privacy is an issue then we would recommend shopping locally.

Free mainland UK delivery is available for all orders over £250+VAT, excluding the delivery fee.

Where free delivery is offered this will be Standard Next Working Day (via DHL Parcel UK), however Express options and Collection will always also be available. 

Free delivery will not be available where a 12v battery is in your order.

International deliveries are provided by DHL Express.  We have found this to be the fastest and most reliable service overall.  In some countries or very remote areas the final part of the delivery may be carried out by a local company - in this case it may not be trackable during this stage.

Delivery costs shown on the website are based on weight and volume (if we have entered product dimensions) and are provided directly by DHL Express.  Depending on your order it may be necessary to split the order into more packages or package them differently which may incur additional costs.  We will contact you if there are any issues but will work with you to get your order to you in the most economical way.

If you see "no shipping options available" this may be because the address information is incomplete or because DHL Express cannot ship to your country.

Depending on the country we are shipping to there may be additional costs such as Import Duty, VAT etc.

These costs are out of our control and not included with our delivery costs.  Please ensure you are aware of any additional costs before placing your order.

Shipments returned to us because import duties and taxes were refused will be refunded less the following:

  • original shipping cost
  • return shipping cost
  • £25 GBP administration charge
  • 10% re-stocking fee
  • any other costs incurred

Some products cannot be shipped outside the UK, such as batteries, aerosols and other items classed as hazardous.  We cannot ship any liquids by air.

Surcharges

DHL have surcharges for "long length" items sent through their network.  This is any item over 120cm in length.  The reason for this is that these parcels cannot go through the automated system and therefore have to be manually processed.  This is out of our control however we have always welcomed customers to collect their parts from us directly.

Monitoring

We monitor carefully the performance of the couriers contracted to us.  We have worked with DHL Parcel UK and DHL Express for several years now and have been very satisfied with the service provided and the minimal problems we have had to deal with.  Out of over 5000 orders we have had only 6 notable delivery issues, all of which have been resolved satisfactorily for both us and our customers.

Performance monitoring is carried out twice weekly and more often than not we will identify and resolve issues before our customer even realises.  If any of our customers have any issues at all, no matter how minor, we really would like to hear about it.  With delivery costs as they are currently the least we can expect is a minimum level of service.
